Artful Stories: The Boy Who Grew a Forest

Seated beneath the herd of elephants in Abhishek Singh’s painting The Rainmaker, created here in Atlanta, children will hear the true story of Jadav Payeng and his forest in the Brahmaputra River region of India. After searching the exhibition Transcendent Deities of India for images of all the animals saved by Jadav’s forest, children will head to the studio to create elephants out of paper embedded with seeds. If these elephants are released into the wild, they will grow into wildflowers native to Georgia!

For ages 3 to 6 years and accompanying adults.

This program is free and open to the public.
