We are requesting literary, artistic and editorial minds of all ages (adults and kids) to contribute to our annual literary publication, Pratichi – The West. Please send your submissions to

Deadline for submissions: August 31, 2018.
If you are interested in helping out with typesetting, proofreading, Bengali transcriptions, and illustrations, we welcome your support.

A few guidelines on submission:
Submissions can be in English and Bengali. Only original and previously unpublished work will be accepted. Bengali submissions will be accepted in any UNICODE typesetting.
The word limit for stories, essays, etc. is 2000 words, for poems it is 1000 words.
Only one submission per author will be published.
The artwork submitted should be completely reproducible within a letter size paper.
Submissions should be electronic and include the name, email and phone number, and a three/four sentence description about the author.
In keeping with the concept and theme, and limited budget, only a limited number of submissions will be included.
The editorial board will screen submissions and reserves the right to accept or reject submissions.
The editorial board may request modifications or edit submissions based upon proofreading, typesetting word count, or artwork requirements.
Submissions not included in Pratichi may be used in other forums.
