His live performance combines Kirtan chanting, American music (jazz, gospel music, blues and rock music), world beat rhythms and raga scales. He sings in both English and Sanskrit, and plays guitar, sarod (a 26 stringed, sitar-like instrument from India), harmonium, saz (a stringed instrument in the lute family) and percussion.

The Saturday Night Program:
7:00 pm
Phil McWilliams

Phil McWilliams' music evokes a longing to see beyond worldly expectations, to find the "Signs of Peace" where we stand, wherever we are willing to look. Subtle harmonies and compelling rhythms are infused with a lifetime of musical experience that ranges from rock, blue grass, and folk to chanting. McWilliams is a seasoned singer/songwriter whose lyrics intentionally blur lines. When words turn to an ancient language, there's no opportunity for him to be misinterpreted. The most logical response is to disengage your left brain and simply be in the moment.

8:15 pm
Blue Spirit Wheel

Blue Spirit Wheel is a progressive evolution in the world of mantra music. Based on the fundamental rhythms contained within the Sanskrit language, the band uses solid bass grooves, dancing tabla beats and an improvisational vocal style to create soundscapes that draw the listener into a deep state of meditation and consciousness expansion. The audience is invited to participate by chanting simple mantras along with the music, or interact with the sounds through dance and movement, or enter a receptive meditative space where the vibrations of the Sanskrit bija mantras create powerful energy shifts.

9:30 pm
Rahasya

Rahasya is a sacred music project led by Surdas and Vajra Yogini. Both lifetime musicians and yoga teachers, the duo tours the country, collaborating with extraordinary musicians, visionary artists, and yogis along the way. Rahasya means "the mystery of the goddess" or "secret". The mysterious journey began back in 2004 in Athens, Ga.

In the beginning Rahasya was a classical and traditional seated kirtan group. Since then, it has evolved into a bhakti infused, super nova of the heart, ecstatic dance and singing experience. Driven by Surdas' syncopated beats and grooves on drumkit, and Vajra's powerful vocals and harmonium, Rahasya's music gets people moving, grooving, and singing ecstatically. Third member "Gershon" (of Dubconscious) adds rich exploratory elements on electric keyboards that weave a beautiful sonic tapestry.
