“One of the biggest names in Punjabi folk music and Sufiana Kalam” – India Today, Hans Raj Hans sings a wide range of music from the Sufi poems of Bulleh Shah, Baba Farid, Kabir--he explores the music of the Punjab – the land of five rivers. Straddling the India-Pakistan border, the Punjab was divided in two by the 1947 Partition of India. The songs of Punjab emerge from the Sufi romances of Heer Ranjha, Sohni Mahiwal and Mirza Sahiban, many episodes of which are set on the banks of Punjab’s rivers.
