Fernbank: The Silk Road

Fernbank Museum of Natural History presents an incredible new special exhibition.

Marco Polo: Man & Myth invites visitors to join the ultimate adventure traveler on an incredible journey from Italy to China along the historic Silk Road. Highlighting excerpts from Marco Polo’s memoir, The Travels of Marco Polo, this major international exhibition features rare and extraordinary artifacts that reveal the cultural practices, artistic traditions, unique landscapes, and unusual animals he witnessed on his epic 13-century journey. Of course, that journey included the cultural experiences of India, which are highlighted within the exhibition. The cuisine of India will also be highlighted through the Tastes from the Silk Road celebration on opening day, which will feature samples from Bhojanic and Cardamom Hill, among others.
Dates: On view September 28, 2013 – January 5, 2014.
