Join Cosmic Sound Mandala (Ian Boccio and Margo Gomes) for a meditation that attracts infinite abundance, as personified by the goddess Lakshmi. As an aspect of Divine Mother, Lakṣmī resonates with the vibrations of prosperity, achievement and happiness, and she sends these blessings to anyone who asks in the spirit of humility, compassion, non-attachment, and with a strong desire to find liberation from all limitations. Connecting to the cosmic consciousness of this goddess, through practices like the Lakṣmī Mahāmantra, allows us to reconfigure our own vibrational frequency so that prosperity flows through and around us naturally. This abundance leads us towards liberation through a deep understanding of the harmony that is inherent in all of existence. Along the way to that realization, Lakṣmī helps us find our way to true happiness, and the contentment that comes with knowing that infinite abundance is already present inside us.
Part of this practice is a recitation of the Śrī Sūktaṁ, a hymn of sixteen verses in honor of Lakṣmī that comes from the appendices of the Ṛg Veda. Thought to be at least 2500 years old, the Śrī Sūktaṁ is one of the most ancient songs to Divine Mother that we still know today.
Ian Boccio sings sacred bhajans (prayer songs) and leads the group in chanting mantras, accompanying himself on the bass guitar. Ian has been a central figure in the Atlanta chant community for over a decade through his band, Blue Spirit Wheel, and as the Director of the ChantLanta Sacred Music Festival. He teaches mantra meditation workshops and Yoga Teacher Training modules on Sanskrit pronunciation and other topics around the U.S. Ian has been a professional musician for more than 30 years, learned Sanskrit from Vyaas Houston of the American Sanskrit Institute, and studied mantra meditation under his Indian teacher, Śrī Karunāmayī.
Margo Gomes creates a soundscape of sacred vibrations using Himalayan singing bowls, Chinese wind gong, and other divine sound creators, that form an environment of healing and meditative energies. Margo is a Vibrational Sound Therapist, using Himalayan singing bowls directly on the body as a powerful healing experience. She received certification from the Vibrational Sound Association and studied directly with the VSA’s founder Jeff Howard. Margo is also a yoga teacher and Thai massage therapist.
