PAPANASAM SIVAN SONGS COMPETITION
Sivan Fine Arts (Message from Sri Papanasam Ashok Ramani, musician and grandson of Sri Papanasam Sivan) will be holding a music competition and festival to celebrate the memory of Sri Papanasam Sivan
Siva Punya Gana Mani,Tamil Thyaggayya,Sangita kalanidhi, Brahmashri Papanasam Sivan’s birth
anniversary is celebrated every year in in countries like India,Singapore, Malaysia, Germany,
London, France, Norway, Denmark for the past 8 years and at Detroit, Dallas,
Sanjose,Chicago,Washington,New York,New Jersy and many parts of USA for the last 10 years.
He has composed over 2000 kritis in Tamil and also over 100 songs in Sanskrit and many operas
like Sri rama charitha geetham,karaikal ammaiyar and others. His compositions include varnams,
kritis, operas and all types of compositions typically rendered in all concerts and handled by all
Bharathanatyam dancers all over the world.. To propagate the works and compositions of
Papanasam Sivan, the Sivan Fine Arts Academy would like to announce first ever annual music
and dance competitions at Atlanta,GA
Venue: Johns Creek Methodist Church, 11180 Medlock Bridge Rd, Johns Creek, GA 30091
Date: May 12, 2018
Time: 8am to 8pm.
There will be concerts by local artists from 4PM to 7PM. Various prizes will be awarded at 7PM to the winners in different groups at the music festival after the concert. Musicians and dancers from Atlanta,GA will be honoured at the prize distribution function on the same day.

GENERAL RULES & REGULATIONS
1. Participants should indicate clearly in the enclosed form, the competition they want to
participate in (vocal or instrumental or dance). If a candidate is participating in more than
one competition, then separate forms need to be filled in. The filled-in applications to be
sent by e-mail to: ashokramani10@yahoo.com. The registration fee is 40
USD/application/person. For group category it is 40USD/person.
2. Participants should sing/dance Papanasam Sivan’s songs only. JUDGES DECISION
WILL BE FINAL.
Participants are requested to bring their own sruthi box.
3. Completed forms should be sent to e-mail: ashokramani10@yahoo.com. All
correspondence should be handled via email.
4. Prize winners are requested to be present to collect the prizes and a winner’s certificate.
Participation certificates will be given to all participants of competitions.
5. For (special) ragam, neraval, swaram category, there is no age limit.
6. The above age category applies for vocal, instrumental and dance for both solo and group.
There will be concerts by talented artists from Atlanta and India from 4pm to 7pm followed
by felicitation and prize distribution.
7. Completed forms should be sent to e-mail: ashokramani10@yahoo.com. All
correspondence should be handled via email.
8. Last date for sending the application form duly filled by e-mail is 1 st May 2018.
9. For Dance, there will be a separate competition for Varnam also of Papanasam Sivan The
duration should be 8 min for Varnam. The time limit for padham will be 6 min. The same
dancer can participate in both varnam and padham category in solo and group also.
