Dear Friends and Dance Connoisseurs,
PRAYAS is a promise that I made to myself, to showcase all my Arangetram students together on stage. And challenge myself to join them. We hear often that students give up dance after their Arangetram as they go off to college. Some who continue to pursue dance end up loosing the edge they once had; as they juggle life between coursework and dance teams. Prayas is a reunion of sorts - an attempt to collaborate with my beloved students and friends to express our inner self.
To make it special, some of the best artists in Bharatanatyam have joined our reunion - Padmaja Kelam on nattuvangam, Dr. Sridhar Vasudevan on vocals, Ramamurthy Kesavan on mridangam/pakhawaj, G.S. Rajan on flute, Aditya Krishnan on violin - all accomplished and sought after artists in our field. What more can us dancers ask for - live orchestra pulsating our feet.
The culmination of our journey now needs a worthy audience like you to measure how far we have succeeded. Please get your tickets at www.deekshaschool.org/prayas - your response has been tremendous and we only have a few left.

We are excited to present an intimate summer concert - "Prayas - express your inner self".
Prayas attempts a simple traditional classical dance concert in a 'Kutcheri' style for the connoisseurs of Bharatanatyam with live music featuring artists from India and Atlanta. We see this as an occasion for people in the classical dance community of Atlanta to come together - patrons, students, dancers, artists and musicians. We thank you for your continuous support of Deeksha School over the years and hope to see many of you there.
Tickets are now available online. Please get your tickets soon, there are only 200 seats in the auditorium and in the interest of the community, tickets will allocated on a first come, first serve basis. We will sell out. |
