Our second Sacred Song Circle will gather Sunday afternoon at 4pm, in the Chapel. Please come, if you like to sing or play music that lifts the soul, or if you just like to listen. No formality — the Circle is not for "performance." It's for the sheer enjoyment of offering music to the Divine, in yourself and in others.
We hope you can drop by around 4 on Sunday. If you play an instrument, please bring it. We're mostly acoustic or a cappella, but we can plug you in, if that's how you like to play.
We'll wind up the Circle about 6pm, then retire to the Monastery for an hour or so, for snacks and beverages.
“Music is the highest form of art and for those who understand it, is the highest form of worship.” -SWAMI VIVEKANANDA
“After silence, that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music.”-ALDOUS HUXLEY
What is a Sacred Song Circle? It is:
• An in the round, multi-faith, multi-cultural sharing of songs that express what is sacred in our lives.
• Casual, not "performance" oriented—an opportunity for you to sing and/or play your instrument, or just listen.
• A building of community and fellowship around the common language we all ‘speak’ … music!
Meet some new folks and have some fun! We'll gather once a month, on the second or third Sunday. So come and share in a couple of hours of music especially meant to nurture your spirit.
There is no cost to attend or participate. Snacks and beverages will be available in the Monastery. You’re welcome to bring things to share, but no alcohol, please. And do bring guests! See you here!
