Kaajal Chandiramani was born in the lap of music, being the
grand-daughter of the illustrious doyen of Sindhi Culture, Padma
Shri Prof. Ram Punjwani. She began her career in music at the
tender age of 11. Her very first performance created such a stir
that newspapers rhetorically declared “A Star is Born”.
Thereafter, she went on to carve a niche for herself.
Besides Sindhi music, Kaajal has proved her mastery over Hindi,
Gujarati and Urdu songs as well, making her one of the few
linguist singers. She has trained in Classical music from a very
young age and had the honour of being under the esteemed
guidance of Ghazal maestro Late Shri Jagjit Singhji.
Kaahal is on the of the few from the younger generation who has
kept the Sindhi culture alive. With her vocals and performances.
She has been a binding factor for Sindhis all over the world.
Indeed, Sindhis are proud to have her as their own “Nightingale”.
She has sung Gujarati sugam sangeet with stalwarts like Shri
Purshotam Upadhyay & Shri Ashit Desai, and also sung for a
Gujarati musical titled “Hun Hunshi lal” which was nomited to
the Cannes Film Festival.
Kaajal is the only Sindhi female singer to have won the first place
(finals) in the famous musical show Sa-re- ga-ma on Zee TV.

innumerable private albums in Hindi, Sindhi and Gujarati.

Her passion for music has no limit. It can only be summarized by
the famous quote, “Music is enough for a lifetime, but a lifetime
is not enough for music”.
