The Hindu Temple of Atlanta (HTA) will perform Sri Lakshmi Narayana Yagam, from Nov 19 to 28, 2021 for the welfare of the world.

The HTA is well known  as a center for spiritual and religious observances in Atlanta, Georgia and Southeastern United States for the past 31 years. The iconic temple  periodically  conducts various "yagams" for world peace and individual wellbeing. The last such major event, which was attended by thousands of devotees and visitors was organized in November of 2015 when the temple carried out the great "Ati Rudra Maha Yagnam”.

A lot has happened in the world since that momentous occasion. The 20 plus months of Covid 19 pandemic continue to keep the planet in its woeful grip. It has caused immense plight and casualties in an unending fashion  This year the temple has put together Sri (Lakshmi Narayana) Yagam, from November 19 to 28, with the last  four days of the yagam occurring during the Thanksgiving  weekend.

"Sri Sriyam Iccheth Hutasanam". one who wishes prosperity will benefit by praying to Lakshmi through Homam.

All human beings seek happiness.  Happiness comes from good health, wealth, name & fame, possession, good relationships etc. depending on personal desire. We need divine blessings to achieve happiness.

Goddess Lakshmi is the goddess of abundance; light, wisdom, fortune, beauty, luck and fertility.  The word Lakshmi is derived from the Sanskrit word Lakshya meaning aim or goal.  In Vedas she is worshiped for her auspicious nature. Ashta Lakshmis are eight manifestations of Goddess Lakshmi who presides over eight forms of wealth.

Ashta Lakshmis are Aadilakshmi, Dhanyalakshmi, Dhairyalakshmi, Gajalakshmi, Santanalakshmi, Vijayalakshmi, Vidyalakshmi & Dhanalakshmi

They represent possible states of mind in which devotees can focus.  All the eight-fold Mahalakshmi is ultimately one single power, that is Adi Sakti. She is the origin, the power, the wisdom and strength.

Sri Suktam is a Siddhi mantram and is a radiant mass of energy. For the adoration of Lakshmi there is no hymn equal to Sri Suktam.

Sri Yagam or Sri Lakshminarayana Yagnam, was prescribed by Maha Vishnu to Brahma. This is done for prosperity and Loka Kalyanam (world peace).
