Yuva Rhythms [Live] is a contemporary devotional music concert, conceived, produced, and performed by Chinmaya Mission youth, or CHYKs. Yuva Rhythms artists blend music, education, and devotion, primarily performing songs from the Yuva Rhythms album series. The music spans a myriad of genres, from Indian classical to jazz and blues, psychedelic rock to regional folk, and all sorts in between, while all the compositions – based on Sanskrit stotras, classical compositions, or even original lyrics – are rooted in rich heritage. Yuva Rhythms [Live] brings people of all ages, cultures, and traditions together in the spirit of devotion and musical expression, and proves to be a delight for all.

Sia Iyer | Vocals oṁ śuddhāya namaḥ
Sia Iyer is a vivacious 7th grader at Boyce Middle School. Her talent was evident even as a 1-year old and she started learning from her mother, Smt. Sheela Raju at the tender age of 4. She further continued her training under Smt. Shuba Sriram. Sia was fortunate to come under the expert tutelage of Dr. Vijayalakshmy Subramaniam since the age of 7. Sia has participated and has been recognized in almost all categories at the Cleveland Thyagaraja Aradhana, and she has partaken in numerous other music competitions across the country. Sia also won the prestigious Carnatic Music Idol USA title in 2014. With the encouragement of so many in the community, Sia has been privileged to perform in and around the Pittsburgh area. Her interest for western music equals her passion for Indian classical music, and this has opened the door for many unique opportunities, including the lead role as Mulan in her school musical. Sia’s thirst for the arts extends beyond vocal music as she has an ardent love for dance, and she has been learning the Kuchipudi dance form from Dr. Kamala Reddy since the age of 4.
Deepikaa Sriram | Vocals oṁ rāmārcitapadāya namaḥ
Deepikaa is currently a Junior at Northwestern University. She has been learning Carnatic music for over 12 years and is a member of Brown Sugar A Cappella. She is an avid CHYK member, and is so blessed to be a part of the Yuva Rhythms family!
