New films in Bollywood: Rohit Shetty’s much awaited Sooryavanshi, starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif, is finally set to hit the screens on April 2 / The mystery thriller Chehre will now hit the theatres on April 9 / Tadap,a ‘different love story,’ is slated to release on September 24 / Alia Bhatt, adding another feather to her cap, has turned producer and her first project titled Darlings.

A psychological thriller, The Girl on the Train is adapted from Paula Hawkins’ bestseller of the same name that was turned into a Hollywood movie in 2016. So while one sits down to watch it with great expectations, does the movie manage to live up to them? Not really!

Rajiv ‘Chimpu’ Kapoor is no more

The film fraternity bid a tearful adieu to actor-producer Rajiv Kapoor, the youngest son of Raj Kapoor, who breathed his last on February 9 following a massive heart attack. His brother Randhir Kapoor rushed him to the hospital but he was declared dead by the doctors on arrival. He was just 58.

Varun Dhawan ties the knot with Natasha Dalal

The New Year saw Varun Dhawan and his longtime girlfriend, fashion designer Natasha Dalal unite in holy matrimony. Only 50 guests, including family and close friends, attended the intimate wedding ceremony held at a luxurious resort on January 24 in Alibaug near Mumbai.

After playing Rani of Jhansi in Manikarnika, and the late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalitha in Thalaivi (which is yet to be released), the spunky actress is now all set to portray India’s charismatic leader and former Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi in a political drama to be helmed by Sai Kabir.

A review of The White Tiger must begin with the actor who is literally the ‘driving’ (pun intended) force of the film. Adarsh Gourav is electrifying as Balram Halwai, a lower caste boy from a large, poor family in rural India who dares to dream. His devious plan to escape the fate of the others of his ilk, to break free of the ‘rooster coop’ (as he calls it) is what The White Tiger is about.

Celebrations continue as Deepika turns thirty-five on Jan 5

The foursome—Ranbir, Alia, Deepika, and Ranveer—bonded again on their return to Mumbai at a party that Ranveer hosted for his wife as she turned thirty-five on January 5. Some of the others spotted at the birthday bash were Deepika’s co-stars Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ananya Pandey, as well as Ranbir’s best friend and director, Ayan Mukherjee. Alia’s sister, Shaheen was also present.
