SRK, Aamir unite for a common cause

Till recently, two of Bollywood’s biggest stars and rivals were taking potshots at each other. But on April 7, the two mighty Khans—Shah Rukh and Aamir—left their egos back home and came together on one platform to speak up for the film producers in their ongoing tussle with multiplexes over revenue sharing. The two superstars, who are also producers, were the cynosure of all eyes (and ears) as they addressed mediapersons at a meeting held at Karan Johar’s residence.

So, is the cold war between SRK and Aamir over? It would seem so, if one goes by the camaraderie that they displayed. But then, let’s not forget that both are accomplished actors!

I’m a Barbie girl, says Katrina

Katrina Kaif will be the Indian face of the new Celebrity Barbie. Aishwarya Rai’s loss has been Katrina’s gain as Ash had been approached first but declined due to lack of time. Nevertheless, Kat is quite happy to step into Ash’s shoes—she endorses Barbie in the iconic doll’s 50th year. Katrina is also delighted to have walked the ramp as the showstopper at a special show dedicated to Barbie at the Lakme Fashion Week in Mumbai. “It will always be very special memory for me because a doll is something which will be in the archives for ever,” said Katrina.

Shilpa to marry Raj Kundra this year

Shilpa Shetty is finally all set to tie the knot with her boyfriend of two years, the London-based tycoon, Raj Kundra. Though the couple are yet to make an announcement in this regard, the buzz is that the two will marry this year in October and they will do it the traditional way. “I believe marriages are made in heaven and I'm completely sure Raj is my soulmate," the actress says. Raj has a daughter from his previous marriage.

Incidentally, Shilpa recently bought a sprawling seven-bedroom mansion in Surrey, fuelling speculation that it could become her marital home in the U.K.

Anil Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt bury the hatchet

Old rivals Anil Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt have finally buried the hatchet, thanks to the stupendous success of Slumdog Millionaire. Sanju Baba and Anil apparently spent an hour together discussing an international project for which they hope to rope in Danny Boyle. He could direct the two stars. Anil also formally signed Sanjay for his home production, No Problem. So therein ends one of the longest lasting feuds in Bollywood.

Incidentally, one of Anil’s forthcoming home productions, titled Ayesha, stars Sonam in the lead role. The film is said to be based on Jane Austen’s classic novel, Emma. But contrary to speculation, Anil does not play Sonam’s father in it. “My dad looks too young to play anyone’s father,” says the doting daughter.
