Bollywood, like the rest of the country, is shaken up by the terror attack on Mumbai. Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan and Salman Khan are among a host of others who say that they are overcome by a terrible feeling of insecurity. Amitabh even admitted to sleeping with his licensed revolver under the pillow that fateful night of November 26. Aamir chose to blog about the “sick minds” of the terrorists and didn’t forget to salute the Mumbai police force for their valor. It was only natural then that Id-ul-Zuha celebrations within the film fraternity were a low-key affair this time. Shah Rukh, Salman, Aamir, Shabana and Javed Akhtar, to name a few, wore black bands to protest against the ghastly killings and to mourn for the hapless victims of terror.

But one thing good has come out of all this: the fear has led to a strong resolve to do something together. “We must stand united to defeat the horrific designs of the terrorists,” the stars and directors say in unison.

Neetu Singh Kapoor to return to films after 26 years

Ranbir Kapoor can’t stop smiling these days. Reason: he’s excited about his mom returning to the silver screen. Yes, after 26 long years, Neetu Singh Kapoor has agreed to act in a movie. The svelte lady will play the wife of a mathematics professor to be portrayed by real life husband Rishi Kapoor. The film, titled Do Dooni Chaar, will feature Neetu as a “Panju housewife of Delhi-Jangpura who’s quite like me, actually.” The movie deals with various contemporary issues like the growing up dilemmas of their teenaged children. “I loved the script and my role in it, and then Rishi egged me on to accept the offer,” says Neetu. The bubbly actress had enthralled the country in such delightful entertainers as Rafoo Chakkar and Khel Khel Mein before she opted for marriage with her co-star Rishi, who is also excited about his wife’s comeback.

Shilpa, Akshay hug and make up

It was a reunion that everyone was expecting, given Shilpa Shetty’s forgiving nature, and it took place on the sets of the grand finale of the TV show Big Boss 2. Yes, after years of bitterness, former lovers Akshay Kumar and Shilpa finally hugged and made up, grabbing viewers’ eyeballs. Everyone marvelled at Shilpa’s composure and dignity when Akki embraced her warmly. On the professional front, the leggy actress has been signed on for a Chinese movie titled Desire. And now, here’s something that Shilpa would love to know! Daniel Craig, just after the release of his second Bond flick Quantum of Solace, said of Shilpa, “With her great looks and killing figure, she would be the perfect Bond girl.” High praise indeed, coming from Mr Bond himself!

Brit billionaire floored by Priyanka

Priyanka Chopra is walking on air. And it’s not only because her acting was appreciated in Fashion and Dostana. High praise from an unexpected quarter was showered on her recently when British billionaire Richard Branson fell at Priyanka’s feet in full view of the gathering at the launch of a resort, Atlantis in Dubai. “You’re the only woman worthy of being called a goddess. You’re the most beautiful woman in the world,” he gushed. Priyanka says that at first she was too stunned to react, but then “I gathered my wits and said a calm ‘Thank you.’” Also present on the occasion were Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan and international biggies like Robert De Niro, Lindsay Lohan and Gerard Butler.

Meanwhile, Priyanka has stated in categorical terms that she will get married in two years. But ask her if she’s found her Mr. Right and she says no! That’s really strange considering she does not shy away now from admitting that Harman Baweja is the special man in her life. Or maybe she’s waiting for someone more special to come along!
