Jiah Khan commits suicide

The sudden and untimely death of Jiah Khan has shocked Bollywood. The 25-year-old British-Indian actress, who made headlines in 2007 with her sensational debut as Amitabh Bachchan’s young lover in Nishabd, ended her life on June 3 by hanging herself in her home in Mumbai. A failed career in films as well as a crumbling personal life apparently drove her to take the drastic step. Jiah was also seen in Ghajini and Housefull. Ramgopal Varma, who directed her in Nishabd, said that he had not seen a debutante with more spunk and spirit than Jiah.
