Though Karan Johar was hardly in the mood for birthday celebrations—he said he was depressed about turning 39—his close friend, Shah Rukh Khan would have none of it and invited almost the whole of Bollywood to dinner at his palatial house Mannat. Among the stars who attended SRK’s grand birthday bash for KJo were Abhishek and Aishwarya Bachchan (who, quite uncharacteristically, turned up in a short glittery gold dress), Hrithik Roshan and Suzanne, Preity Zinta, Priyanka Chopra, Rani Mukherjee, Arjun Rampal and Shahid Kapoor. Those conspicuous by their absence were Akshay Kumar and Twinkle, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan.
