September 2012

1. Following the shooting at the Sikh temple in Wisconsin, a Fox News anchor asked a nephew of one of the victims if there had been any previous “anti-Semitic acts” against members of the temple.

2. Televangelist Pat Robertson blamed atheists for the shooting at the Sikh temple in Wisconsin.

3. Hindu nationalists blamed the power blackouts in India on high electricity use by people watching Aamir Khan’s TV show Satyamev Jayate.

4. Indian-American astronaut Sunita Williams, visiting the International Space Station for the second time, said she would vote in the presidential election through a program called Voting from Space.

5. During a TV special about India, Oprah Winfrey said to her hosts at a Mumbai party, “I heard some Indian people eat with their hands still?”

(1, 2, 4, and 5 really happened.)
