Good Sports: INDIAN MEN RANKED NO. 9 IN TABLE TENNIS
The Indian men’s table tennis team has achieved a world ranking of No.9, their highest ranking ever.
India’s two best players, Sathiyan Gnanasekaran and Sharath Kamal, are ranked No. 30 and No. 36 respectively among male players worldwide. Indian-American paddler Kanak Jha, a four-time national champion, appears at No. 26 in the International Table Tennis Federation rankings.
At the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Australia, the Indian team of Gnanasekaran, Kamal, Anthony Amalraj, Harmeet Desai, and Sanil Shetty won the gold medal, while Gnanasekaran and Kamal won silver in men’s doubles, and Kamal won bronze in men’s singles.
