Good Sports: TRIATHLON IN SPACE

Indian-American astronaut Sunita Williams recently completed a triathlon in space—swimming half a mile, biking 18 miles, and running four miles. Well, not exactly. While athletes competed in the Nautica Malibu Triathlon in Southern California, Williams put her body through a similar workout inside the International Space Station, using a stationary bike, treadmill, and strength-training machine. She finished the race in one hour, 48 minutes and 33 seconds—as long as it takes most of us to wipe the dust off our exercise machines.
