Film Purnaviram advances to national competition
November 2019 - Purnaviram, a short film written, produced, directed, and shot by Sharon Gurung from Agnes Scott College, will now compete at the national level at Campus Movie Fest Terminus in Los Angeles.

November 2019 - Anjali Enjeti has earned her second “Outstanding Story on Any Subject” award from South Asian Journalists Association, this time for her article on Georgia's suppression of Asian American voters.

November 2019 - Dr. Veena N. Rao, Professor at Morehouse School of Medicine, has received a $100,000 grant for her breast cancer research on early detection of Triple-Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC).

November 2019 - Dhaval Panchal of Augusta, GA, was Mr. India Global 2017-18; he has had successful stints in acting, modeling, Instagram blogging, and DJ-ing. He is now brand ambassador for Express clothing.

Girl Scout Risha Hegde earns Gold Award
November 2019 - Risha Hegde, a senior at Wheeler High School, Marietta, GA, earned the Girl Scout’s Gold Award for her project, “Girls Run the Cloud,” which aims to inspire girls towards STEM education.

Aditya Bora in D.C. as a Chief Science Officer
November 2019 - Aditya Bora, a junior at Johns Creek High School, represented Georgia at the International Chief Science Officer Summit in D.C. in October and will train students in Nepal in December.

Atlantans receive USPAACC-SE Diversity in Action awards
November 2019 - The US Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce Southeast Region honored five “Outstanding Asian Americans" and ten “Top Asian American Businesses”; ten of these were South Asian Americans.

November 2019 - Nieraj Jain, M.D., of Emory Eye Center in Atlanta, found a problem with a drug used for interstitial cystitis; now there is further confirming data that longterm use causes vision problems.
