Anika Vennel wins Google Doodle award Anika Vennel, who attends Crabapple Crossing Elementary, is a State Finalist in Google’s 2011 Doodle4Google Contest. Her artwork, “Space—Exploring New Frontiers,” was chosen by Google employees from a total of more than 107,000 entries from across the country. For each state, two doodles were selected in each grade group (K-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12)—400 State Finalists in all.

Anika has been a student since 2010 at Global Art, a syllabus-based art education program, whose students are encouraged to enter art competitions, apply what they learn in class, and receive recognition for their work. Last year, another Global Art student received the state finalist award in Doogle4Goodle 2010.
