"You Touch Me" with Br. Shankara
Vedanta Center of Atlanta

This Sunday's Talk

On Sunday morning at 11am, Br. Shankara will give a talk called You Touch Me.

Join us via Zoom and participate in the discussion. This is how we "study together the art of spirituality."

You Touch Me

You touch me with the sound of your voice,
you touch me with your strong, caring hands —
you reach into me with your unspoken knowing,
with your love. All this is returned in full with my
purest of hearts.

We’re never all that far apart,
no matter the distance between us.
We reach toward one another as
that sacred do-si-do you imagined so
long ago — the Mother laughing aloud,
dancing hands-in-hands with the Master.

Br. Shankara update
Br. Shankara is currently staying at Coventry Place assisted living, not far from the Center, where he continues regaining his strength after a hip fracture. As help is still needed with care expenses, the GoFundme page remains active; click here to contribute. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.

The Kirtan/Devotional session for September is to be held on Sunday, Sept 10 from 5:30-7PM in the Chapel. Anyone interested in presenting a Kirtan, please contact Swayam. If possible, send lyrics so that a printout can be given to all devotees that are attending and interested in chorusing.

Swami_DhyanayoganandaSwami Dhyanayogananda has been part of the Trabuco Canyon monastery since 2016 and is currently the lead monk there. He was born in Argentina and raised Catholic but when he was 19 he discovered a Ramakrishna ashram in Buenos Aires and became part of that community. He joined the order in 2001 and spent seven years in India.

Every July Fourth, the Trabuco Canyon monastery, situated on 40 acres of rolling hills, is the venue for the Southern California Vedanta Society’s celebration of Swami Vivekananda’s Mahasamadhi with a puja in the Chapel and great food. Hundreds of devotees attend each year. It’s also the monastery where Swami Yogeshananda, founder of the Vedanta Center of Atlanta, spent his last years teaching devotees and brahmacharis.
