Memorable evening of classical and semi classical concert of Dr. Monica Shah in memory of Padma Vibhushan Girija Devi

On May 27, a wonderful classical and Semi classical concert was organized by shri. Mustafa Ajmeri, Global Entertainment & Media services in memory of Padma Vibhushan Girija Devi at Global mall, Atlanta, USA. An amazing artist, Dr. Monica Shah from India gave a traditional, authentic, soulful performance with her tuned and melodious voice. Dr. Shah is a prominent disciple of Padma Vibhushan Girija Devi.
Dr. Monica Shah started concert with bada khayal in raga Yaman. The wordings of bada khayal were "Deo daan mohe". It was followed by chhota khayal madhya laya teentaal, "Ratna lagi tore balma" Then she sang one popular and traditional thumri of Banaras gharana in raga Desh, "Hey mora saiya bulave" It was appreciated and got big applause by all music lovers. After thumri she sang zhoola in excellent way, "zhhola dhire se zhoolao banvari".and got big applause from all music lovers. Then she sang one famous Dadra "Diwana kiye shyam " and audience was mesmerized. She sang one Mira Bhajan in a soulful way "Aali ri mere nainan". Dr. Shah sang a rare style of semi classical music "Tappa" in raga Kafi. The audience was thrilled to listen her taans and ways of her singing. The wording were "Miya Nazare nahi aanda"
Dr. Shah concluded her sabha with thumri Ras ke bhare tore nain" and one Ma Kali Bhajan, "Mai dharu viharo dhyan" in raga Bhairavi" mand created divine atmosphere. All music lovers thoroughly enjoyed the whole wonderful concert of a renowned classical vocalist Dr. Monica Shah. It was a feast for all music lovers. She was nicely accompanied by shri Ashfaq khan on tabla and shri Manish Vyas on Harmonium.
