Atlanta community leaders shine at AMEC awards
Rekha Radhakrishnan and Vani Ghanate of Atlanta were recently recognized as two of AMEC’s Top 20 Women of Excellence for 2025. The awards were presented by the American Multi-Ethnic Commission (AMEC) at the 13th Annual Congressional International Women’s Day Celebration at Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. The AMEC awards celebrate individuals committed to uplifting ethnic communities. Rekha Radhakrishnan was lauded for her contributions to women’s empowerment, particularly through her impactful work in Technology, Leadership Coaching, Music, and Literature. Vani Ghanate was recognized for her entrepreneurial excellence and bold vision for DhoomDB.com, a digital entertainment platform she founded after leaving a successful career in IT. What began as a solo effort has grown into a a team of dedicated individuals, most of them women. Sunil Savili, CEO of Unicom Technologies in Atlanta and Founder of Indian Friends of Atlanta, received the NTR Centenary Award 2025. The Newton & Lita Devasahayam Centenary Award 2025 was presented to Mustafa Ajmeri, CEO of Global Entertainments and Media Services in Atlanta.
