Vinayak Menon, a sophomore at Lambert High School, has won the State level of the American Legion Department of Georgia’s 84th U.S. Constitution High School Oratorical Scholarship Contest. Started in 1938, it exists to develop deeper knowledge and appreciation for the U.S. Constitution among high school students. Competing in the contest for the fi rst year, Menon was awarded a $2000 cash scholarship provided by the American Legion, the Sons of the American Legion and the American Legion Riders. Due to Covid restrictions, there is no National Oratorical Contest this year but Vinayak will receive an additional $5000 from the national American Legion.
