2019 TYE Finals

Twenty-three university teams practiced and pitched to a group of judges at Georgia State University's Buckhead campus on February 23 in the hopes of making it to the TYE Finals.

Congrats to Cute and Cocky, University of West Georgia; Gallus, University of Georgia and Georgia Tech; Kennedy and Crowe, Georgia College and State University; MagTrack, Georgia Tech; SafeStrip, Georgia State University; Sima, Georgia Tech; SwiftMat, Georgia Tech and Emory University; and ValChem, Valdosta State University.

These teams will pitch for prize money at TYE Finals on the afternoon of April 13 at Genuine Parts HQ’s conference center.

Time: 1pm-5:30pm

Our TYE High School and TYE University students have been working hard all year for this! Our teams and startups will present their innovative product or service to a panel of judges in hopes to walk away with the grand cash prize. The winners of TYE High School will go onto to compete in the TiE Global conference in Seattle, WA. TYE University entrepreneurs will receive cash prize towards their startup.

​8 AM - Registration, networking, and breakfast

9:30 AM - Welcome and opening keynote, Partha Unnava

 

Partha Unnava, founder of Better Walk Health, will open the event with a keynote address on becoming an entrepreneur, innovation and his journey in founding Better Walk Health. Unnava has been featured in Medium, Hypepotamus, Venture Beat and more. He was named as Forbes 30 Under 30 in 2015.

 

10:15 AM - TYE and TYE University Pitches

 

During the pitches, attendees and students will be able to receive free consultations and reviews on building effective LinkedIn profiles and take professional headshots to enhance their entrepreneurship game.

 

12 PM - Closing keynote From Alex Smereczniak, co-founder, 2U Laundry

Alex Smereczniak is the co-founder of 2U Laundry, a Charlotte-founded startup being hailed as the Uber of laundry. Smereczniak will share how an idea from university class got the co-founders featured on ABC's Shark Tank, it's expansion into Atlanta, and the growing pains and solutions they learned on the way to success.
