BAGA Youth Folk Art Drive

Dear BAGA friends,

For the first Saraswati Pujo of the new decade (February 1st, 2020), we have embarked on a very ambitious art project and we need all the help we can get to make it a success.

Historically, this day is a celebration of learning and arts. For 2020, we wanted to dive into the creative spirits of the future--the next generation of the BAGA family.

For this we are requesting the participation of our middle, high school and college students in our 'folk art drive'. Their creations will adorn the 'Chalchitra' of the 'Protima' and selected art work will be showcased on the spotlight pillars.

We will provide the canvas and also some reference images to maintain a common theme. Our goal is to engage the next generation, tickle their creative veins, so that we can truly celebrate what this day stands for - pursuit of learning and creativity.

With the help and encouragement from the parents and Rina Chakraborty (our resident artist extraordinaire), we hope this becomes a fun and colorful project for the upcoming holidays and in the process our children will get a taste of Indian folk art.

For participation please contact/RSVP our coordinators by 30th November with your child’s name and age and let them select one (or more) from the following folk art work (click link below) to recreate on a canvas.

The following are our target time lines: Materials (12X12 or 12X16 canvas boards) will be provided by 1st Dec.  Finished canvas to be submitted by 4th Jan.
