Bengali Association of Greater Atlanta (BAGA) will be celebrating Durga Puja October 3rd-5th 2014. Join us this fall as we embark on 3 very different journeys. Escape to a small world of magic and fairy tales, lose yourself in a vibrant story about music, love, and poetry from the heartland of 1800s Bengal or explore with us the mysterious cosmic side of the divine. Debasish is a star in his own right when it comes to the art of recitation. With almost 15 years' experience under his belt, this man is one of the most popular recitation artistes in West Bengal. Apart from his perfect vocal chords, crystal clear diction, Debasish's success and popularity is also due to his unique style and willingness to experiment. He uses a plethora of aids to enrich his stage performance. Visuals, music and other sound effects...his own voice, choruses, songs or even sounds from nature ...making his shows an audio visual extravaganza.

BAGA presents Iman Chakraborty at our Durga Puja on October 4, 2014.

Iman is one of the most talented upcoming Rabindrasangeet & folk singers of her time. Her style and unique voice has won her fans all over the world. A trained Hindustani Classical musician, a folk singer, and a Rabindrasangeet singer par excellence, she has developed her unique style of presentation adapting it to the popular masses of today.

Durga Puja for BAGA always brings a promise of thought provoking and perceptive cultural programs. This year more than 150 of our talented kids and members are all getting ready to mesmerize you and showcase their talent. We feel confident in our vision and talent to successfully experiment and dazzle our audience again. This year we present a medley of productions that showcase the various facets of our culture.

Disney'R দেশে

A Disney Medley combining four Disney stories: Snow White, Dancing Princesses, Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast, connected by characters from Wizard of Oz. Dorothi and her friend Tinman visit Disneyland to invite all the characters to her birthday party. 45 kids of ages 3-12 years come together to showcase their talent in this wonderful world of Disney.

Shaktirupena

The creators and destroyers of the world – according to Hindu mythology – all get their supernatural powers from the “Shakti,” a manifestation of the different forms of power which all generated from various forms of Goddesses, thereby signifying the women power and its relationship to creationism of various parts of the universe. The power of Shakti is cosmological. Her energy is ever changing, moving from one entity to another to facilitate life. The energy of Shakti in five manifestations - Sati, Parvati, Durga, Kali and Annapurna is studied through the language of classical-fusion dance in this BAGA production.

Kabi Kahini

Another BAGA original production with a cast of 50. Come watch it Saturday night as our creative team recreates stories from history when the times were tumultuous yet the music was sublime. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting production
