Conservators approach the study of works of art with a unique perspective and toolkit, and their work reveals information that contributes to our understanding and appreciation of them. In a lecture titled “Through the Eyes of the Conservator,” paper conservator Elizabeth Kaiser Schulte discusses her two-year-long process of documenting and treating the paintings featured in the exhibition “Tell the Whole Story from Beginning to End:” The Ramayana in Indian Painting, sharing information gained through close examination, scientific testing and analysis, and study of technique and usage.
