The event is organized by India Awareness Foundation and sponsored by several Indian organizations.

Dr. Swamy has impressive scholarly credentials, having earned a doctorate from Harvard University in 1964, after having worked with Nobel Laureate Simon Kuznets and jointly authored papers with another Nobel Laurate, Paul Samuelson. He taught economics at Harvard for nearly 22 years. He was also professor of economics at IIT, New Delhi.

Dr. Swamy was a Cabinet Minister for Commerce, Law & Justice in the Janata Party government in 1991. He is President of Janata Party and former Visiting Professor at Harvard. He has written extensively on foreign affairs, Indian & Chinese economics and Indian politics. Dr. Swamy is spearheading the anti-corruption movement in India and has been responsible for getting several ministers/MPs convicted in the Indian courts of law. Dr. Swamy is a great intellectual and eloquent speaker.
