Dreams Detained: In Her Words
A community event uplifting the stories of Southeast Asian women who have experienced detention and deportation in their families. Honor their experiences by hearing their stories and learning what our rights are. (Location: Café Rothem conference room.)
The National Asian Pacific American Women’s Forum (NAPAWF) and the Southeast Asia Resource Action Center (SEARAC) have published a new report entitled “Dreams Detained, In Her Words,” telling the stories of Southeast Asian American women whose family members have been detained or deported. The women we interviewed graciously shared in their own words how family separation affected them. They will speak with us directly on January 25, along with an attorney specializing in immigrants’ rights and a nationally-recognized journalist.
Food provided for all who RSVP. Transportation, childcare, or language assistance available *if requested in advance*. Contact rabisamra@napawf.org to request this or to RSVP!
