Emory ICE: Diwali 2016

Emory Indian Cultural Exchange (ICE): Diwali 2016
Welcome to Emory's celebration of Diwali! Also known as the "festival of lights," Diwali celebrates new beginnings often associated with happiness, goodness, and prosperity. Diwali is India's most widely celebrated festival and demonstrated the country's rich cultural and religious diversity.

Emory ICE puts on an annual celebration to mark this occasion. In fact, ICE Diwali is Emory’s BIGGEST off-campus event, providing about 700 students with a night that embraces every aspect of Indian food, dance, and culture. The event is grand, elegant, and memorable—a definite bucket-lister for any and every Emory student.

The following are included in the purchase of a ticket:
-An Authentic, Full-Course Indian Dinner provided by Cafe Bombay!
-A cultural show featuring Emory's BEST dance teams!
-Music and entertainment provided by DJ Jaz Productions!
-Free shuttles to and from the event!
-And (of course!), a night you will NEVER forget!

TICKETS:
ICE Diwali tickets will be sold for $31 each. Ticket sale times are listed below. Ticket sale locations will be announced 30 minutes before the time of sale of per day of sale. Saturday, October 15th from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM
Monday, October 17th from 5:00 to 7:00 PM

Tickets are available to all Emory students, but each student can only buy ONE tickets for themselves and no more. Students MUST have their Emory IDs with them at the time of purchase. Upon ticket purchase, a customized QR code will be sent to your email. Please be have this code ready at the event to show to the ticketer. Upon admission into Diwali, each attendee will receive a special gift, which will serve as his or her proof of admission. ALL ticket sales will take place in person; cash, card, and Venmo will be accepted at the time of purchase. Please note that when using credit card, there is a $1 surcharge.

We understand that ticketing times may not accommodate everybody. We have worked hard to come up with a variety of times and days, including one weekend day, to allow students equal opportunity to receive a ticket. We also realize that ticket prices can be a burden for students to pay. Please know that the ICE Board works tirelessly to make this experience accessible to as many students as possible. However, given the rising vendor costs, Diwali does become very expensive, with each person’s attendance costing over $70. Despite the cost of tickets, we at ICE are working very hard to provide you with an amazing experience; we hope you will all consider the work well worth it!

PROGRAM:
Diwali will begin at 7:00 PM and will end at 1:00 AM. The pre-function area will be open from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM and will feature hors d'oeuvres and entertainment. The main reception will begin at 8:00 PM and admission will not be granted after this point.
