Emory University: the Emory Gamelan Ensemble presents "Hanoman the Messenger":
a Traditional Indonesian Shadow Puppet Show
An excerpt from the Hindu epic the Ramayana, our story follows the exploits of Hanoman, the monkey general.
Funded in part by the Emory College Center for Creativity and Arts' David Goldwasser Series in Religion and the Arts,
Featuring guest drummer Made Lasmawan (Colorado College),
the Gamelan Ensemble will be accompanying the puppetry work of master puppeteer Midiyanto (UC-Berkeley).
