PakistanAmbassador Marion Creekmore is opening his political science classroom to the public on Thursday, April 9, when Jonathan Pratt will give a guest lecture on US policy toward Pakistan and hopes for India-Pakistan relations.

Visitor parking is available in the Oxford Road Visitor's Deck.

About Jonathan Pratt

Pratt is director of the Office of Pakistan Affairs for the US Department of State. Prior to this assignment, he was the political counselor at the US Embassy in Islamabad from 2010 – 2013. He has also held posts in the Republic of Congo, Sudan, Angola, Jordan, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

He began his career with the State Department in 1998 as a Presidential Management Fellow in the International Organizations Bureau. He was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Guinea-Bissau and served with Teach for America in Watts, Los Angeles, in the 1990s.

He received an MA in International Relations from the University of California at San Diego in 1998 and a BA from Wesleyan University in 1992. He is the recipient of the 2013 Clement Dunn Award for Excellence, the 2009 Director General’s Reporting Award, three Superior Honor Awards, and two Meritorious Honor Awards.
