Clarkston Community Center Residency
Students will read Brother, I'm Dying and create an artistic response. Discussions of book themes and concepts will guide their creations. A final presentation will conclude the residency in which family, friends, teachers and students will be invited. Dates to be determined and finalized.

Story Palooza and Book Swap
Local writers and community members read a story of their very own that relates to Edwidge Danticat's own personal experience with family, loss, illness, and immigration. Along side this event, attendees are asked to bring a book whose story has stuck with them to swap for another.
