GAPABA ANNOUNCES THIRD ANNUAL GALA TO BENEFIT THE GAPABA LAW FOUNDATION
ATLANTA – In recognition of Asian Pacific American Heritage month, the Georgia Asian Pacific
American Bar Association (GAPABA) will hold its signature Annual Gala on Thursday, May 12,
2016 at the Fernbank Museum of Natural History. The keynote speaker will be Don Liu, EVP,
General Counsel and Secretary of the Xerox Corporation; the emcee will be Monica Kaufman
Pearson, retired anchor of WSB-TV; and Teresa Wynn Roseborough of The Home Depot will be
honored as GAPABA’s General Counsel Diversity Champion.
“Since its founding in 1993, GAPABA has supported Georgia’s Asian Pacific American lawyers,
who continue to excel and advance in every industry and practice area, in law firms,
corporations, non-profits, and public service,” said David Kahng, President of GAPABA. “This
year, GAPABA celebrates ‘Reaching New Heights’ and our Gala gives us the opportunity to
express our deep gratitude and honor our members, sponsors, and friends in the community.”
The event will include a private VIP reception for higher level sponsors – featuring over three
dozen general counsel of Fortune 1000 companies, along with judges and other elected officials
in attendance – as well as a cocktail reception, an awards ceremony, and a banquet dinner.
New this year, GAPABA will offer a Rainmakers Forum, exclusive to GAPABA Gala sponsors, to
discuss what it takes to get and keep great clients from general counsel and law firm partner
perspectives. The forum will feature Don Liu, Teresa Wynn Roseborough, Wilson Chu
(McDermott Will & Emery), and Jim Goh (Constangy Brooks).
A portion of the funds raised will benefit the GAPABA Law Foundation, a non-profit
organization that provides charitable and educational services for Georgia’s Asian Pacific
American legal community. For sponsorship opportunities, tickets to the event, or more
information, please visit http://www.gapaba.org/GALA.
