GIACC: Summer Social celebrates International Yoga Day
The Georgia Indo American Chamber of Commerce was established to foster and encourage trade and commerce between India and the State of Georgia. There are tremendous opportunities on both sides of the equation. Please come out for our summer event next Tuesday at the beautiful Buckhead Club to socialize with those of us who are working towards this mission.
We will be highlighting a recent trip that the Sandy Springs Chamber of Commerce took to India. They are eager to talk about it and explore working with Indian enterprises.

About International Day of Yoga
On December 11, 2014, the United Nations General Assembly unanimously adopted a resolution introduced by India, and co-sponsored by 177 out of the 193 Member States of the UN, to celebrate 21st June as the ‘International Day of Yoga’.
The resolution had the highest number of co-sponsors ever for any UN General Assembly resolution of this nature, reflecting the universal appeal of Yoga. The Government of India has since decided to celebrate annually, the International Day of Yoga, throughout the World. The 1st International Day of Yoga was celebrated in Atlanta, Georgia on June 21, 2015, with great enthusiasm and popular participation.
The 2nd International Day of Yoga is being celebrated in Georgia by the Consulate General of India with the support of around 50 Indian associations/Yoga institutions and the City of Sandy Springs, on Sunday, June 26, 2016 (as June 21 is a working day).
