A paradigm shift in the rules relating to ‘Place of Effective Management’, to determine residency of foreign companies owned by Indian residents.
The wide ranging impact on companies which need to transition to the new accounting standards in India “IND AS”.

Specific Topics & Presenters Include:
Place of Effective Management – India’s Tax Outreach
Speaker – Mr. Vaibhav Manek; FCA (India); CPA (USA); CGMA (USA)
Residential status is not a static concept. It needs to be reviewed every year. It depends on the factual aspects that transpire in a particular tax year. The Finance Act, 2015 (“FA 2015”) has brought about a paradigm shift by introducing the ‘Place of Effective Management’ (“POEM”) rules to determine residency of overseas companies, in India.

Ind AS – a Fairer Picture
KNAV Speakers - Mr. Atul Deshmukh; FCA (India); CPA (USA); CA (Canada); CA (Ireland) and Mr. Navneet Sharma; ACA (India)
Industry Speaker - Mr. Matt Sewell, Director of Financial Reporting at Novelis, Inc. (an Aditya Birla Group company)
On February 16, 2015 the Indian Ministry of Finance and Corporate Affairs gave notice of 39 Ind AS and provided a transition map for companies. This session is intended to simplify the maze of revolutionary changes by providing an understanding of Ind AS, highlighting the differences between current Indian GAAP and US GAAP and give insights on implementation.

Companies Act 2013 – a Sea Change
Speaker – Mr. Monish Chatrath; FCA (India)
The Indian Companies Act 2013 has undergone a sea change and it is imperative that each officer of the impacted companies understands and follow the new rules. This session will unravel the impact of these changes on subsidiaries and branch operations of Indian companies.
