About KALBELIA: Kalbelia is a folk/gypsy dance tradition from the Thar desert in India. Kalbelia dance is an expression of the Kalbelia community based in Rajasthan, India. Once snake charmers, they are now famous for their dance and music, which is protected in the intangible heritage list by UNESCO.
About the Instructor: Proma is the founder of Moksha Dance Company based in Atlanta. She has been training and performing Kalbelia since 2012. She has presented this dance form at the Atlanta Dogwood Festival, Queen Elizabeth's Golden Jubillee organized by British Consulate in Atlanta, Jaipur Restaurant (Chicago), COCA-COLA Headquarters, and on LIVE-TV as part of a Dogwood Festival presentation.

No experience in Kalbelia or Indian dance is assumed or necessary for this workshop. All three workshops must be purchased together and students are highly encouraged to attend all three.
Place of instruction is a large dance space within a home. LIMITED SPOTS.
Proma Ray, the instructor believes in having a sense of space and freedom while learning this dance tradition, and therefore only upto 6 students per class will be booked.

WEEK 2 (1.5 hrs) - Traveling steps, Kalbelia Spins, Intermediate Combinations
WHEN: JUNE 22 (Saturday) 11:00AM-12:30PM
WEEK 3 (1.5 hrs.) - Achieving better flexibility, advanced Kalbelia, postures, Interacting with audience during dance
WHEN: JUNE 29 (Saturday) 11:00AM-12:30PM
