Pandit Jasraj is a globally renowned, internationally acclaimed Indian Classical Vocalist, and an ambassador of the rich Indian culture and heritage – both within and outside of India. He is the only musician who has earned the title Sangeet Martand, which translates to “The Sun of Music”.
Pandit Jasraj has won several international and national accolades for his music and contribution to the advancement of Indian Classical Music, including the title Padma Vibhushan, one of India’s highest civilian honors.
He has been very successful in achieving a popular following for Indian Classical Music, traditionally regarded as an elite art form. More than any other maestros of the Hindustani vocalists, he has appealed to the masses.
