Meet Somen Debnath: HIV awareness
Consulate General of India, Atlanta invites all interested people to come and
meet Mr. Somen Debnath, an Indian Citizen who has embarked on a World Tour on bicycle around the world to spread awareness on HIV/AIDS, and to convey the message of peace and humanity among the youth. He is also promoting the Indian culture around the world.
He started his journey on 27 May 2004 from India and reached Atlanta on 24 July 2018.
He has traveled to 150 countries and paddled 154700 kms so far.
He plans to visit 191 countries by the end of 2020 covering almost 200000 kms and reaching nearly 20 million people.
He has acquired special training under the aegis of the West Bengal State AIDS Control Society, India.
He has lots of stories to tell from his travel including captivity for 24 days at Afghanistan, meeting current Indian consulate officer in three continents
He is currently in Atlanta, GA and would like to spread awareness of HIV/AIDS
and convey his humanitarian and cultural exchange message in schools, colleges, universities, health centers, NGOS, and social organizations during his stay here.
