No More Deportations; STOP SB 452 - Week of Action
by Asian Americans Advancing Justice Atlanta
Welcome to Georgia - the Deportation State! Georgia is already in the Top 5 states nationally for detention and deportation. Tell our lawmakers that we don't need any more deportations and we do not need our local law enforcement working with ICE.
The Georgia State Senate is voting on SB 452, a bill that would make local law enforcement agencies communicate with ICE if they have arrested an undocumented individual. In addition, under this bill prosecutors and the courts will be able to inquire about the immigration status of the individual, which could factor into sentencing and parole decisions.
