Pandit Jasraj School of Music: workshops
The Pandit Jasraj School of Music (PJSM), Atlanta in collaboration with "Sangeetayan" (a nonprofit aimed to promote Indian Classical Music), invites all students as well as followers of music to attend a series of workshops: to enhance their understanding of basic elements of ‘Taal’ (Rhythm and Rhythm patterns) which will further improve their appreciation of Indian Classical Music. The Series of workshops will be held over the next few months in Atlanta, GA, USA.
Swar (Notes) and Taal (Rhythm) are two indispensable and intrinsic aspects of Indian Classical Music. They are independent in their own merit but are still inseparable and complimentary to each other. It has been argued that Taal (Rhythm) is fundamental to the creation of any musical system.
For any student of Indian Classical Music, the knowledge of both Taal and Swar is essential, a must!
Atlanta’s very own – Shri Prithwiraj Bhattacharjee, the most illustrious and talented Tabla Player of his generation, will lead the workshops, along with Shri Pritam Bhattacharjee.
The format of the workshop will be interactive - in the form of lecture-demonstration, wherein Shri Prithwiraj-ji will explain concepts and encourage learners to clarify questions/doubts.
DON’T MISS THE OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN FROM THE VERY BEST OF INDIAN CLASSICAL MUSICIANS; TO SEEK ANSWERS TO ALL THE QUESTIONS ABOUT TAAL (RHYTHM AND RHYTHMIC PATTERNS) THAT YOU ALWAYS WANTED TO KNOW!!
