The ancient art of shadow puppet drama is alive and well in Indonesia--and also in Atlanta. The Emory Gamelan Ensemble plays Indonesian music on an exquisite orchestra of bronze percussion instruments from Java. Their live music accompanies the master musician and puppeteer, Pak Midiyanto, visiting from UC Berkeley. Together, the music and drama tells an episode of the Ramayana Epic. Children and young people are especially welcome for this performance!
