Shiv’s Institute of Dance, also known as SID, is a Bollywood fusion dance studio specializing in teaching Bollywood, Hip Hop, Folk, and various other styles of dance to ages four and above. Shiv’s has two locations in Georgia- Cumming and Marietta- which run 6 days a week. SID has performed at many charity and community events around the U.S. and has received much appreciation for their contagious energy and electrifying stage persona.
Our director and mentor, Shiva Turlapati, is one of the finest Bollywood Dancer/Choreographers in Atlanta. He has more than 25 years of experience dancing as well as 17 years of experience in the film industry, including having produced 2 Telegu films. Being the Founder and President of Shiv's Institute of Dance (SID), he established not only a brand in the greater Atlanta area, but also worldwide with numerous winning awards.
As we start 2017 with a bang, Shiv’s Institute of Dance would like to present Sensation 2017. Sensation is a biennial grand-scale event that SID produces to give all of our students a platform to present at. At Shiv’s we believe that every human being has the potential to dance. We pride ourselves on giving our students the opportunity to showcase their talents and recognize them publicly. Our students from both studios come together to put on a spectacular show that is a feast for anyone's’ eyes. With creative choreography done by our director, Shiva Turlapati, and his staff, Sensation is an accumulation of music, masti (fun), and entertainment all brought together through dance. The show has 20+ individual and unique entries done entirely by SID’s students. We bring you special show stopper performances with various ranging topics that are sure to reach your hearts in the form of folk, hip-hop, and of course, Bollywood Dance.
But that’s not all…
This year as we celebrate our 4th Sensation, SID will take you through the virtual reality of Netflix, a dimension which will come alive through dance. We bring you captivating themes that will remind you of your own favorite genres of entertainment- all with a little twist. Nothing is as what it seems, so sit back, grab some popcorn, and join us on an extravagant journey into the world of Netflix.
The show will be held at the Atlanta Symphony Hall on Sunday May 28th, 2017. The doors will open at 4 pm and the show starts at 5 pm.
