NEW YEAR - Let's take a moment and thank Maa Durga and Bholenaath for what we got in 2016 and pray for our family, loved ones and this world for 2017. Mandir open all day for special archana. 108 PARTICIPANTS NEEDED for OM NAHAM and Maha Mritunjai chanting at 5PM. Welcome 2017 with MATA KI CHOWKI in morning and SAMUHIK RUDRABHISHEK in evening. This cannot get more auspicious, please join the temple in this prayer event for our well being. We welcome volunteers for food and other arrangements.

This is the only Indian festival which is celebrated every year on 14th January, The sun moves from Dakshinayana (Tropic of Cancer) to Uttarayana(Tropic of Capricorn). Capricorn zodiac known as Makar in Sanskrit and sankrant/sankraman means moving of Sun. That’s why it is called Makar Sankranti. It marks end of winter and beginning of longer. warmer days.
Makar Sankranti is also known as Gupi, Lohri, Pongal, Onam, Thaipusam etc.
