Here is an initiative by South Asian Collective. Join us in our Storytelling & Book Club, read a book, build a community, and snag a seat to chat with the authors.
We are also donating some copies to enable people who identify as DV survivors to join us. Reading is a privilege as a DV survivor—for as much the cost as the leisure to read. Community is also a privilege, especially as an immigrant.
Recently, a very wise person I met recently at a storytelling session said that we offer others what we value ourselves and didn’t have. So here we are—offering a safe space and community.
Our first pick is ‘Inside the Mirror’ by Parul Kapur from my city Atlanta. Parul’s debut novel recently won AWP Prize for Novel and we are so thrilled to have her.
