Asha for Education – Atlanta proudly presents Strings of Hope, a magical musical night that takes you on a unique journey encompassing the pure and serene beauty of Indian Classical Music. The performances of the night feature the Sarod, a traditional yet highly versatile Indian Classical Acoustic String Instrument.
We are honored to host in Atlanta the internationally renowned sarod artist and a two-time GIMA (Global Indian Music Awards) nominee, Abhisek Lahiri. He is one of the youngest President’s Award Winning "A" grade sarod artist of All India Radio and a recipient of the "Rashtriya Gaurav" award.
He will be accompanied on tabla by the world-renowned tabla maestro and disciple of the late doyen of Tabla Pt. Shankar Ghosh, Subrata Bhattacharya.
Opening this mesmerizing night of the sarod will be Atlanta's own Souryadeep Bhattacharyya, himself an ICCR empaneled and All India Radio permanent artist (sarod).

Asha for Education is a secular non-profit organization committed to supporting projects in India, with the goal of catalyzing socio-economic change in the form of education, healthcare and empowerment training for underprivileged children and women.
All proceeds from this event go towards our project – Nishtha, which focuses on providing a protective environment to the highly vulnerable children of sex workers and help their way into mainstream society through formal education.

Abhisek Lahiri (Sarod)
Sarod maestro Sri Abhisek Lahiri, son and disciple of Pt. Alok Lahiri, is an A-grade artist of All India Radio and Presidents' Gold medalist. A two time nominee  for the Global Indian Music Awards (GIMA) Abhisek's sparkling music, combines the aesthetics of different gharanas of Sarod playing. 
Subrata Bhattacharya (Tabla)
Subrata Bhattacharya is a worthy exponent of the Farukhabad Gharana and a disciple of Tabla maestro Pt. Shankar Ghosh and has accompanied many stalwarts of India music such as Pt. Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, Dr. L. Subramaniam, Dr. N.Rajam, Pt. Buddhaditya Mukherjee, Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan, Pt. Tejendra Narayan  Majumdar among others. 
Souryadeep Bhattacharyya (Sarod)
Sarod artist Souryadeep Bhattacharyya is a disciple of Pt. Alok Lahiri, a National Gold Medalist and an empaneled artist of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR). He is a well-known name in the Atlanta music circuit, and has collaborated with many musicians across genres.
