If you are playing in a rated section USCF membership is required. Two month scholastic membership is $8, one year scholastic membership is $17 without the magazine and $24 (recommended) if you wish to receive the quarterly magazine Chess Life for Kids. You can register online at uschess.org or at the tournament.
Unrated sections do not require USCF membership although USCF rules will be followed. These sections are ideal for someone who is interested in a less competitive environment. |
